Avena has a wealth of knowledge in Freedom of Information practices and supports clients in navigating complex requests. She previously worked in the financial sector, gaining valuable experience in Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes. Dinos is a founding member of the cybersecurity committee of Royal
Institution of Naval Architects, and an initial board member of Digital Business Ireland. Dinos has a PhD in EU Competition Law, and a Professional Diploma in Human Resource Management. He holds the Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) Lead Auditor certification from the British Standards Institution.
Dinos is a Cybersecurity and Hybrid Threats instructor on the NATO DEEP (Defence Education Enhancement Programme), coordinated by NATO and the Partnership for Peace Consortium of Defence Academies (PfPC). He is Senior Advisor to the NATO DEEP eAcademy, and a member of the PfPC Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Working Group. He is an editorial board member of the PfPC journal Connections, and a visiting instructor at the EU European Security and Defence College.
Dinos is also a co-author of the NATO / PfPC Cybersecurity Curriculum, and a Contributor to the Hybrid Warfare and Hybrid Threats Curriculum.
